Signed and inscribed by co-author Boris Emmett on half-title page and dated September 12, 1950. Also signed by another on same page, but cannot read the name. May be co-author John Jeuck or a previous Sears CEO but cannot confirm. Custom bound in red leather boards with marbled endpapers. Previous owner initials stamped at front bottom right corner. Has dust jacket bound into volume as well. In black cloth over boards slipcase. Book is in very good condition. Leather binding of spine has cracked and chipped but title lettering is still clearly visible. Interior is clean and unmarked. Pages crisp, spine straight with no writing or names. Dust jacket (bound in) is like new with some very light shelf wear. Jacket states “3rd printing” but book states “2nd printing”). A scarce copy of this landmark history of Sears, Roebuck & Company. 788 pages.
